As one of the authors of this blog, I get to see the inner workings of Windward Nazarene Academy. I am a former teacher, but now I get the chance to see the big picture. This article is titled Always Learning not only because I am always learning, but because the WNA staff has made a commitment to always be learning. This past Tuesday, Windward Nazarene Academy teachers, and assistants did a teacher swap. The picture above is our 6th-grade homeroom and middle school history teacher, leading Kindergarten through their lesson. At 6’2″ Mr. Johnson sure looks out of place in a Kindergarten classroom. The teacher swap came as part of an initiative to better ourselves as a school and individually as a staff. Intentionally putting ourselves in situations we may not be comfortable in, is food for growth, and opportunity to always be learning. The Bible says in Isaiah,
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do;I will not forsake them.
Our development as a staff is based in a faith that God will guide us through, even the most uncomfortable positions. Teacher swap was a great opportunity for growth and we saw challenges but also a lot of fun, laughs, and learning.
