Creating a Culture: Core

I just got back from Hawaii Pacific Nazarene District Children’s Camp, better known as HI-PAC Kids Camp. The theme this year was “Under Construction” based on Ephesians 2:10 which says,

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

The first night the speaker spoke on our foundation. Foundation is what inspired what I believe will be the last of this creating a culture series, core. Our core is what is inside of us that causes us to do, react, and respond to things. The core values of a school should line up with the core values of your family.

Well, with a foundation of Christ and a culture of compassion, caring, and calling, our hope is that your family is built on the same type of foundation. At Windward Nazarene we live these principles in teaching, and beyond. There were so many beautiful moments at camp but the moment pictured above affirms our core values. These are kids that don’t go to the same school or church, were not prompted by anyone to put their arms around each other but in the spirit of worship that happened. We are all one family an ohana and that is the culture we strive to create.
